Scandinavian living room with a fluted TV wall in Kukatpally, Hyderabad

About this design

This Scandinavian living room was designed for a family of four with two school-going children at Tulip Meadows, Kukatpally, Hyderabad. The brief asked for display space for books and travel finds, so the team added open shelves with concealed lights.

The palette is white, powder blue and mustard, with light woods, soft textiles and big clear windows. Main materials: birch-look laminate, wool, white oak flooring and powder-coated steel. In Hyderabad, light, heat-reflecting colours, blackout curtains and units kept off hot west walls help through the summer.

Work on site took about 5 weeks after the design was signed off, and the approximate cost was ₹4.2 lakh for a 291 sq ft room, including GST. Treat it as a reference: brands, site conditions and the city change the final price.
