About this design
This Kerala traditional 4 BHK villa was designed for a joint family of six at Kakkanad, Kochi. The brief asked for space for guests without a dedicated guest room, so the team designed a sofa-cum-bed corner in the study.
The palette is teak brown, red oxide and cream, with teak ceilings, red oxide floors and brass lamps. Main materials: solid teak, red oxide floor, brass lamps and laterite cladding. In Kochi, BWP plywood, sealed board edges and stainless hardware stand up to the humid, salty air.
Work on site took about 15 weeks after the design was signed off, and the approximate cost was ₹59.5 lakh for 4,293 sq ft of carpet area, including GST. Treat it as a reference: brands, site conditions and the city change the final price.
Highlights
- Outdoor deck with weatherproof furniture
- Walk-in wardrobe in the master suite
- Home theatre on the upper floor
