About this design

This Kerala traditional 4 BHK row house was designed for a family with an elderly parent at Mavoor Road, Kozhikode. The brief asked for more storage without making the rooms feel smaller, so the team used floor-to-ceiling wardrobes with lofts and a bed with hydraulic storage.

The palette is teak brown, red oxide and cream, with teak ceilings, red oxide floors and brass lamps. Main materials: solid teak, red oxide floor, brass lamps and laterite cladding. In Kozhikode, BWP plywood, sealed board edges and stainless hardware stand up to the humid, salty air.

Work on site took about 12 weeks after the design was signed off, and the approximate cost was ₹16.3 lakh for 1,972 sq ft of carpet area, including GST. Treat it as a reference: brands, site conditions and the city change the final price.
