Mediterranean U-shaped kitchen on Golf Course Road, Gurugram

About this design

This Mediterranean U-shaped kitchen was designed for a doctor couple with long shifts at Golf Course Road, Gurugram. The brief asked for room for two people to cook at once, so the team chose a layout with a clear aisle and two work zones.

The palette is whitewash, sea blue and terracotta, with arches, lime-washed walls and terracotta floors. Main materials: lime wash, terracotta tiles, arched niches and rattan. In Gurugram, light, heat-reflecting colours, blackout curtains and units kept off hot west walls help through the summer.

Work on site took about 6 weeks after the design was signed off, and the approximate cost was ₹3.5 lakh for a 147 sq ft room, including GST. Treat it as a reference: brands, site conditions and the city change the final price.
