About this design

This Mediterranean L-shaped kitchen was designed for a family with an elderly parent at Banyan Tree Residency, White Town, Puducherry. The brief asked for a kitchen that stays clean despite heavy Indian cooking, so the team used a ducted chimney, a quartz top and a full-height tiled backsplash.

The palette is whitewash, sea blue and terracotta, with arches, lime-washed walls and terracotta floors. Main materials: lime wash, terracotta tiles, arched niches and rattan. In Puducherry, BWP plywood, sealed board edges and stainless hardware stand up to the humid, salty air.

Work on site took about 5 weeks after the design was signed off, and the approximate cost was ₹5.1 lakh for a 141 sq ft room, including GST. Treat it as a reference: brands, site conditions and the city change the final price.
