About this design
This Rajasthani living room was designed for a family of four with two school-going children at Ashoka Park, C Scheme, Jaipur. The brief asked for a TV wall that hides the wiring, so the team built a panelled TV wall with a cable duct behind it.
The palette is sandstone pink, indigo and gold, with jaali screens, sandstone and block-print textiles. Main materials: jaali screens, sandstone, block-print textiles and mirror work. In Jaipur, light, heat-reflecting colours, blackout curtains and units kept off hot west walls help through the summer.
Work on site took about 5 weeks after the design was signed off, and the approximate cost was ₹10.9 lakh for a 238 sq ft room, including GST. Treat it as a reference: brands, site conditions and the city change the final price.
Highlights
- Floating TV console with hidden wiring
- Glass partition to the dining area
- Accent wall with fluted panels
