About this design

This Mediterranean master bedroom was designed for a young professional living alone at Skylark Habitat, Kazhakkoottam, Thiruvananthapuram. The brief asked for a calm room to rest in, so the team used a soft palette, blackout curtains and warm lights on dimmers.

The palette is whitewash, sea blue and terracotta, with arches, lime-washed walls and terracotta floors. Main materials: lime wash, terracotta tiles, arched niches and rattan. In Thiruvananthapuram, BWP plywood, sealed board edges and stainless hardware stand up to the humid, salty air.

Work on site took about 4 weeks after the design was signed off, and the approximate cost was ₹5.4 lakh for a 204 sq ft room, including GST. Treat it as a reference: brands, site conditions and the city change the final price.
