Transitional kids room with a study wall in Police Bazar, Shillong

About this design

This transitional kids room was designed for a first-time home buyer at Cedar Ridge Habitat, Police Bazar, Shillong. The brief asked for space for two children, so the team fitted a bunk bed and split the wardrobe in two.

The palette is warm grey, navy and brass, with shaker shutters and clean modern lines. Main materials: shaker shutters, quartz, linen upholstery and antique brass. In Shillong, warm wood finishes, insulated wall panels and thick rugs keep the rooms comfortable in cold months.

Work on site took about 3 weeks after the design was signed off, and the approximate cost was ₹2.3 lakh for a 169 sq ft room, including GST. Treat it as a reference: brands, site conditions and the city change the final price.
