This traditional Indian island kitchen was designed for a family with an elderly parent at Cedar Ridge Greens, Whitefield, Bengaluru. The brief asked for more storage for a family that cooks every day, so the team added a tall pantry with pull-outs and deep tandem drawers.
The palette is turmeric, deep red and peacock green, with carved teak, brass accents and handloom upholstery. Main materials: solid teak, brass inlay, handloom fabric and kota stone. In Bengaluru, windows were kept clear for cross-ventilation so the home needs little air conditioning.
Work on site took about 6 weeks after the design was signed off, and the approximate cost was ₹9.5 lakh for a 145 sq ft room, including GST. Treat it as a reference: brands, site conditions and the city change the final price.
