About this design

This Indo-colonial master bedroom was designed for a doctor couple with long shifts at Orchid Residency, Sevoke Road, Siliguri. The brief asked for a corner to work late without disturbing anyone, so the team added a compact desk with its own task light.

The palette is ivory, teak brown and bottle green, with cane-back chairs, louvred shutters and patterned tiles. Main materials: cane weave, teak, athangudi tiles and wrought iron. In Siliguri, windows were kept clear for cross-ventilation so the home needs little air conditioning.

Work on site took about 4 weeks after the design was signed off, and the approximate cost was ₹3.5 lakh for a 216 sq ft room, including GST. Treat it as a reference: brands, site conditions and the city change the final price.
