About this design

This art deco straight kitchen was designed for a doctor couple with long shifts at Boring Road, Patna. The brief asked for room for two people to cook at once, so the team chose a layout with a clear aisle and two work zones.

The palette is emerald, gold and ivory, with fluted panels, brass inlays and arched mirrors. Main materials: velvet, brass trims, marble and fluted panels. In Patna, light, heat-reflecting colours, blackout curtains and units kept off hot west walls help through the summer.

Work on site took about 6 weeks after the design was signed off, and the approximate cost was ₹1.7 lakh for a 117 sq ft room, including GST. Treat it as a reference: brands, site conditions and the city change the final price.
