Art deco 4 BHK apartment in Sector 8, Chandigarh

About this design

This art deco 4 BHK apartment was designed for a family of four with two school-going children at Sandalwood Court, Sector 8, Chandigarh. The brief asked for easy-to-clean surfaces, so the team chose scratch-resistant laminates, a quartz countertop and washable sofa fabric.

The palette is emerald, gold and ivory, with fluted panels, brass inlays and arched mirrors. Main materials: velvet, brass trims, marble and fluted panels. In Chandigarh, light, heat-reflecting colours, blackout curtains and units kept off hot west walls help through the summer.

Work on site took about 12 weeks after the design was signed off, and the approximate cost was ₹25.3 lakh for 2,009 sq ft of carpet area, including GST. Treat it as a reference: brands, site conditions and the city change the final price.
