Art deco kids room for two siblings in Benz Circle, Vijayawada

About this design

This art deco kids room for two siblings was designed for a couple with a toddler and a dog at Tulip Gardens, Benz Circle, Vijayawada. The brief asked for a room that grows with the child, so the team used adjustable shelves and a desk that can be raised.

The palette is emerald, gold and ivory, with fluted panels, brass inlays and arched mirrors. Main materials: velvet, brass trims, marble and fluted panels. In Vijayawada, light, heat-reflecting colours, blackout curtains and units kept off hot west walls help through the summer.

Work on site took about 4 weeks after the design was signed off, and the approximate cost was ₹1.3 lakh for a 123 sq ft room, including GST. Treat it as a reference: brands, site conditions and the city change the final price.
