Scandinavian work-from-home room for two in Srirangam, Tiruchirappalli

About this design

This Scandinavian work-from-home room for two was designed for a first-time home buyer at Jacaranda Gardens, Srirangam, Tiruchirappalli. The brief asked for a desk that does not take over the bedroom, so the team used a wall-mounted desk with shelves above.

The palette is white, powder blue and mustard, with light woods, soft textiles and big clear windows. Main materials: birch-look laminate, wool, white oak flooring and powder-coated steel. In Tiruchirappalli, light, heat-reflecting colours, blackout curtains and units kept off hot west walls help through the summer.

Work on site took about 2 weeks after the design was signed off, and the approximate cost was ₹1.2 lakh for a 90 sq ft room, including GST. Treat it as a reference: brands, site conditions and the city change the final price.
