About this design

This biophilic L-shaped kitchen was designed for retired parents moving closer to their children at Palasia, Indore. The brief asked for built-in appliances, so the team stacked the oven and microwave in a tall unit at eye level.

The palette is leaf green, sand and wood, with indoor plants, natural light and natural materials. Main materials: planter walls, natural stone, jute and solid wood. In Indore, light, heat-reflecting colours, blackout curtains and units kept off hot west walls help through the summer.

Work on site took about 5 weeks after the design was signed off, and the approximate cost was ₹2.8 lakh for a 89 sq ft room, including GST. Treat it as a reference: brands, site conditions and the city change the final price.
